A close friend recently sold a lovely RV

That she had enjoyed  with her husband

Who had recently and unexpectedly passed away.

To her surprise,

It was a woman that bought the RV,

And she also had been recently and suddenly widowed.

My friend thought it such a curious coincidence!

She told of their conversation

And how she felt she might have helped her

In such an emotional transition.

They didn’t speak again, once the deal was complete.

My friend referred to this coincidence and conversation

as a “God wink.”

You may be familiar with the term,

Meaning when it seems the Creator has sent

A little bit of joy, or clarity,

That seems perfectly timed for

The moment in your life.

I invited her to consider it more of a

God appointments:

If God winks are for our individual delight

And guidance,

Appointments are for other people.

If you can recall a time when you felt prompted

To speak to someone, buy them a coffee at a drive through

Or interact in some way, and maybe never again.

It could be a chat on a flight, or at a casual gathering,

That didn’t seem to actually lead to … well…

Anything that you can measure.

But we have no idea what light we may have shared with that

Person and how it could be a seed that God’s planning on watering

With your words as the soil.

I’m learning to follow those little nudges..

Sometimes I get rewarded with a wink, and

Sometimes I trust that it was an appointment, and

I just enjoy the conversation!

Happy spring!
